In 6th grade Language Arts we read a book called The Last Cuentista it was one of my favorite books that we read this year. The book is about a girl, her parents and her brother who are leaving Earth because there is a comet that is going to destroy it. However, not everyone got to leave Earth to the new planet and the girl’s grandmother was one of them. The girl missed her grandmother very much so she told the stories that her grandmother told her to the kids on the ship. The Last Cuentista has a lot of stories (Cuentos) that have been passed down from generation to generation in the main character’s family for a long time. This book was very good and I highly recommend reading it.

Another really fun thing that we did in 6th grade Language Arts is the Ideal World project. For This project we had to write an essay about what our own Ideal World would be. I called my Planet Z it is very different from earth. I really enjoyed this project because it let me use my creativity to design a planet however I wonted. Overall, this was by far one of my favorite projects this year because of all of the different ways I could do it.

One of the final projects that we did in Language Arts this year was when we made our own books. This project was very fun. We started with finding things from nature like leaves and grass. Then we put paint on these rubber plates, then put paper on it so the leaf would show up on the paper. We made several different papers with different materials and colors. After that we folded a piece of paper into a really cool shape look like a normal book but it was double layered. Once we were done folding the paper we glued the papers that we made early onto the first layer of the book. I really enjoyed this part because there are so many different and cool ways to glue them on. After we were done adding all of the things, we wanted we cut out a hole in the center in any shape that we wanted on the second layer. Then we put more of the cool papers that we made on the second layer. The final thing that we did was we designed a cover and put it on the book. This was by far my favorite project that I have ever done in school.

In conclusion, in Language Art this year we did many creative and interesting projects. I really enjoyed all of the projects this year but if I had to pick my absolute favorite project it would be when we made our own book this was my favorite project in Language Arts this year because of all of the hands on things that we got to do. This was by far my favorite year in Language Arts.
